MIDDLETOWN, CT – Spring has come to Wesleyan for a brief moment, marked by the emergence of several acoustic guitars on Foss Hill. The warm weather has encouraged the guitars and their accompanying softboys out of their winter slumber.
“I was just sitting on Foss, trying to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather, when I suddenly heard ‘Wonderwall’ a few feet away from me,” one student Kayla Pine said. “The next thing I knew, all I could hear was the strum of acoustic guitars.”
The folksy music has also brought out the dormant Foss smokers, who had been previously relegated to freezing porches and balconies.
“It’s good to get out and enjoy the fresh air,” sophomore Justin Green said in between puffs of smoke. “It’s good for your lungs.”
